I am very happy to announce the release of “the thread,” a long-distance songwrting collaboration project with the remarkably gifted ellen cherry, from Baltimore, MD.
The project actually has roots all the way back to 2005 when I was on tour for “Sweet Is The Anchor.” My band played a show to exactly two people in Baltimore – one of which was ellen cherry. We struck up a friendship then and there and at some point got the idea to try to write a few songs together. Between our busy schedules of touring and making our own albums we managed to meet up in Chicago a few times – and once in Baltimore during Hurricane Irene – to write, re-write and record. The album comes out tomorrow, Tuesday, May 3rd.
